It’s even better the second time around. I miss the characters already, and I can’t wait for the sequel to come out. A truly great, new children’s book.

The Secret of Sooty Wick Inn is a well written page-turner that’s so much more than juvenile fiction. It defies categories and appeals to readers of all ages, especially adults looking for a fascinating summer read.

from Candace R. Curran, author of Playing in Wrecks and two-time winner of the Poet Seat competition                                                             Magical tale! Lindgren’s illustrations bring home Sooty Wick Inn, grounded in tradition and the natural world and juxtaposed with the supernatural. Once you pick up this book, there’s no putting it down.

Love the setting and magical touches. The illustrations are superb and enhance the cool story being told. Has the same appeal to kids and adults as Harry Potter. Recommended!

from Penny G                                                                                                                                                                  I love the book. The little blips into Beetle’s fears add magical and humorous dimension to the book. The plot has many twists and turns. There is a theme running through The Secret of Sooty Wick Inn that will stir compassion, honesty, and responsibility in children fortunate enough to read it.
